Proposer is The National Mediation Service, Central Administration (NMS) in Norway (Sekretariatet for konfliktrådene): We propose our good colleague, Lars Otto Justad, for a second term as a Board member to the European Forum for Restorative Justice.

Justad works as a senior adviser at Konfliktrådet of South-East of Norway with broad experience from the practice field of restorative justice, and he is also one of our instructors in training of mediators. He is a well known colleague in the organisation as a whole, as he has contributed to numbers of working groups and in other initiatives for the Konfliktrådet, and as he for many years was representing employees in cooperating with the Central Administration. Further he is well known also to many colleagues abroad as he has been engaged in different international activities and represented NMS in project co-operations and study visits from abroad.

NMS Central Administration recognise the importance of international cooperation and exchange of experience, knowledge and research findings in order to further develop the field of restorative justice. Norway has a long term experience in restorative justice, especially linked to penal cases and we believe that our experiences in this regard, both challenges and possibilities, would be an asset to the EFRJ Board in working towards further promoting implementation of restorative justice.

Lars Otto Justad as a Board member would be able to draw upon NMS collective experience/resources. NMS Central Administration are ready to be dedicated to the EFRJ work in general and to support Lars Ottos work in the Board, giving him the assistance needed to make his contribution to the Board as good as possible.

We support the candidacy of Lars Otto Justad for a second term in the EFRJ Board. Lars Otto Justad works as a senior advisor at The Norwegian Mediation Service/Konfliktrådet of South-East of Norway. Mr. Justad is a long-time practitioner in the field of restorative justice and is an experienced mediator and he has been involved in various projects in Konfliktrådet. Lars Otto Justad is a strong supporter of the work of Safe Learning, Norway and involving restorative justice in schools.
